The Quick Breakout

A breakout is a very brief (usually 50 to 100 words) item that is related to an adjacent article, but expands upon one part of that article. It is usually highlighted by colour, border and/or font style or size. they make articles more interesting and grab the reader’s attention so that they are more likely to read other material on the same or nearby pages.

Examples of breakouts used by Medwords include:-

STOP SMOKING

If beetroot, just for instance, was found not only to cause cancer in 10% of its heavy consumers, but eventually to bring 25% to an early death, no-one would consume it, and the government would long ago have legislated against growing it. Sadly, this is just what cigarette smoking does, but the sale of cigarettes is permitted, cigarettes have been heavily promoted by advertising, and large profits are made from their sale. If you stop smoking now, after smoking for ten years, your disease risk will return to virtually normal within five years.

LOSE WEIGHT

If those who are medically overweight reduce their weight by just 10%, they will:-

    - reduce blood pressure by 10 to 20 mm.

    - reduce the symptoms of angina by 90%

    - reduce the bad forms of cholesterol in their blood

    - reduce the risk of developing diabetes by 50%

    - reduce the risk of death from heart disease, diabetes and cancer by

            more than 20%

    - improve the quality and quantity of sleep

    - reduce daytime drowsiness

    - increase sexual desire and activity

            - improve overall assessment of health by more than 20%

DON’T DO DRUGS

Getting an artificial high while risking your health and a criminal record are just not worth it. You really do NOT know what you are putting into your body, you don’t know what effects it will have (even if you’ve used it before, it may be different this time) and permanent damage to your body is a significant risk. While affected and feeling high, you may decide to try superman (or superwoman) type stunts that can cause injuries to yourself or others. Get a real high by doing something for someone else (receiving gratitude is one of the best highs), exercising (get those natural narcotics circulating), exploring a new place or activity, or achieving a new skill.
